My name is Clare Toner, I am 17 and currently studying my AS levels at St. Mary's High School Limavady. I joined Interact when ripI was 14 when the club was recruiting members from St. Mary's. The biggest thing I did through Interact was go on a trip to South Africa, to build two houses for Interact's and Rotary's sponsor children. This was a brilliant trip which was full of good and hard experiences. It really put things back home into perspective for me. |

Photograph: Rotary is on top of the world with intrepid explorer Gavin Bates.
Rotarians usually move mountains in the pursuit of making a difference but honorary member, Gavin Bates, has taken a more traditional, although very challenging approach, by climbing Mount Everest, for the sixth time.
He reached the summit in the early hours of Friday 20th of May, taking a moment to pose with the Rotary flag, 29,000 feet above sea level.

WEST 2 EAST
At dawn on Saturday 9th October 2010, two Limavady Rotarians started out on the journey of a life time. They cycled from the West Coast of Ireland in Sligo to the East Coast of Northern Ireland – all inside 36 hours! Brave Rotarians Peter Jack and Darren Mornin, the current and previous Limavady President were MAMIL i.e. middle aged men in lycra. It was a frightening sight!
They raised money for Rotary charities before and during the event, supported by Sam McCrea (Foundation Chairperson), who drove the support bus for the 3 days needed to ensure they completed the cycle marathon.
